Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Jaipur

Your private driver meets you at Jaipur International Airport or Jaipur Railway Station upon arrival. The transfer to your heritage hotel in the old city is smooth and comfortable, with a short briefing on the days ahead. The evening is yours to enjoy — walk through the bazaars near Badi Chaupar, sample local street food, or simply settle in at a rooftop restaurant with views of the illuminated city walls. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 2: Jaipur – The Pink City in Full

After a relaxed breakfast, your private guide picks you up for a full-day exploration of Jaipur. The morning begins at Amber Fort, a stunning Mughal-Rajput complex set above Maota Lake. Walk through Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam, and the Ganesh Gate at your own pace with a knowledgeable guide. From Amber, you visit the Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and the City Palace complex with its museums and royal apartments. The afternoon opens up for a walk through Johari Bazaar, where you can browse for gems, block-print textiles, and traditional lac bangles. If you enjoy food, your driver can take you to a well-regarded Rajasthani thali restaurant for dinner. Overnight Jaipur.

Day 3: Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park

After breakfast, your driver heads south toward Sawai Madhopur and the gateway to Ranthambore National Park. The drive takes approximately four hours through rural Rajasthan. Check in to your jungle lodge, which sits just outside the park boundary, and freshen up before your first afternoon jeep safari. Ranthambore's zones vary in terrain, from dry deciduous forest and grassland to ancient ruins and seasonal lakes. Your naturalist guide briefs you on animal behaviour, tracks, and the best spots for sightings before you head into the park. Overnight Ranthambore.

Day 4: Ranthambore – Full Safari Day

This is the day you have been waiting for. Wake before sunrise for a morning jeep safari, the best time to spot Bengal tigers near water sources. Ranthambore is home to a healthy tiger population and the park's ancient fort ruins create a dramatic backdrop for wildlife photography. After returning to the lodge for a late breakfast, rest during the midday heat. Head back into a different zone of the park in the afternoon, this time looking for leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles along the lake edge, and an extraordinary range of birds. Evening debrief with your naturalist. Overnight Ranthambore.

Day 5: Ranthambore Morning Safari | Drive to Jaisalmer

One final morning safari before breakfast gives you another chance for tiger sightings in the golden early light. After check-out, your private driver begins the long westward journey toward Jaisalmer in the heart of the Thar Desert. This is a long drive (approximately 8 to 9 hours), so you stop for lunch and refreshments along the way. Alternatively, a domestic flight from Jaipur to Jaisalmer can replace part of this drive if you prefer. Arrive at your luxury desert camp or boutique hotel near Jaisalmer as the sun drops low. Overnight Jaisalmer.

Day 6: Jaisalmer – The Golden Fortress City

Jaisalmer is a city unlike any other. The entire old fort is a living, breathing settlement of narrow lanes, temples, and havelis carved in golden sandstone. Your morning begins with a guided walk through Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon ki Haveli, and the Gadisar Lake. In the afternoon, your driver takes you to the Sam Sand Dunes, roughly 42 kilometres west of the city, for a sunset camel ride or a jeep dune safari. Your desert camp offers a cultural evening with folk music, fire dancers, and traditional Rajasthani cuisine under the open sky. Overnight in the luxury desert camp.

Day 7: Sam Sand Dunes Sunrise | Drive to Jodhpur

Rise early for sunrise over the dunes, one of the most photographed moments on this tour. After breakfast at camp, check out and drive toward Jodhpur, the Blue City (approximately 5 to 6 hours). Your private driver takes the scenic desert highway, passing through small towns with colourful markets. Arrive in Jodhpur and check in to your hotel, ideally with a fort view. The evening is free for a wander through the old clock tower market and a dinner with a rooftop view of Mehrangarh Fort lit up against the blue city below. Overnight Jodhpur.

Day 8: Jodhpur – Mehrangarh Fort and the Blue City

A full day in Jodhpur with a private guide. Start at Mehrangarh Fort, perched 120 metres above the city, with its massive gates, museum collections, and sweeping panoramic views across Rajasthan. Walk through the old city's blue-painted lanes, past spice sellers, chai stalls, and textile shops. Visit Jaswant Thada, the ornate marble cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and stop for lunch at a local rooftop cafe. Afternoon is free for shopping or relaxing at your hotel spa. Overnight Jodhpur.

Day 9: Jodhpur to Udaipur – The City of Lakes

After breakfast, your private driver heads south toward Udaipur (approximately 5 to 6 hours). The road passes through Rajput heartland, with optional stops at Ranakpur Jain Temples, among the finest examples of marble temple architecture in India. Arrive in Udaipur in the afternoon and check into your lakeside hotel. As evening approaches, take a private boat ride on Lake Pichola with views of the Taj Lake Palace floating on the water, the City Palace above, and the Aravalli Hills beyond. Dinner at a lake-view restaurant rounds off a beautiful day. Overnight Udaipur.

Day 10: Udaipur – City Palace and Departure

A final morning in one of Rajasthan's most romantic cities. Your guide takes you through the City Palace complex, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, followed by Saheliyon ki Bari (Garden of the Maidens), and a stroll through the old city's art gallery lane. After lunch and a final shop for miniature paintings or silver jewellery, your private driver transfers you to Udaipur Airport or the railway station for your onward journey. Tour ends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tour suitable for first-time visitors to India?
Yes. The private driver model, expert guides, and curated stays make this one of the easiest ways to experience Rajasthan for the first time. You never need to figure out public transport or book on the spot.

Can I customise the itinerary?
Absolutely. You can extend Ranthambore for an extra safari day, swap Udaipur for a Chittorgarh day trip, add the Pushkar temple town, or adjust the pace at any destination. The itinerary is a starting framework, not a fixed schedule.

How many tiger sightings can I expect in Ranthambore?
Ranthambore has one of the highest tiger densities in India and sighting rates are strong. Three safari drives across two full days gives you excellent odds. However, wildlife sightings are never guaranteed in any national park.

What type of accommodation is included?
The tour uses a mix of luxury heritage hotels (such as Suryagarh Jaisalmer or similar), boutique lodge properties near Ranthambore, and lakeside properties in Udaipur. Desert camp stays are tented luxury camps with private bathrooms and all amenities.

Is Ranthambore open year-round?
The park typically remains closed from July 1 through September 30 during the monsoon season. The best safari months are October through June.

What is the physical difficulty level of this tour?
This tour is low to moderate. Most activity involves walking on uneven surfaces at forts and temples, and sitting in open jeeps during safaris. No trekking or strenuous hiking is required.
