4 Days Golden Triangle tour

India Golden Triangle 4 days tour from Delhi with private car and driver. Taj Mahal sunrise, Fatehpur Sikri, Amber Fort and Jaipur included.

4 Days Golden Triangle tour

Duration: 3 Nights / 4 Days
Destinations Covered: Delhi → Agra → Jaipur → Delhi

Most people who plan a trip to India end up looking at the same route: Delhi, Agra, Jaipur. It is called the Golden Triangle, and the three cities are 230 to 270 km apart. Between them you get old Mughal streets, the Taj Mahal and the hill forts of Rajasthan.

Our 4 days Golden Triangle tour is built for people who want to see all of that without running from one gate to the next. You get a full day in Delhi, a proper stop at Fatehpur Sikri, and a Jaipur morning that is not cut short by a long drive. The roads are still long. Delhi to Agra takes about four hours, Agra to Jaipur about five, and Jaipur back to Delhi five to six. But with four days, the driving is spread out, and you have time to sit down for lunch.

You travel in a private air-conditioned car with your own driver. Local guides meet you at the main monuments. Because the car is only for your group, you can ask for a longer stop or drop something you are not interested in.

Tour Highlights

  • Old Delhi: Red Fort from outside, Jama Masjid and a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi, the old city and the new
Your driver meets you at the airport, the railway station or your hotel. Once you have checked in and rested, we start with Old Delhi.

You see the Red Fort from the outside, then take a cycle rickshaw into Chandni Chowk. The lanes are narrow and busy, with spice shops, sweets and a lot of noise. Some visitors love it. Others want to leave quickly, and your guide will adjust the pace to suit you. After that comes Jama Masjid, where you should cover your shoulders and knees and be ready to take off your shoes.

After lunch we move to New Delhi. India Gate is a short photo stop. Humayun's Tomb comes next, a large garden tomb that was built before the Taj Mahal and is much quieter. If you still have energy, we can add Qutub Minar, a tall red sandstone tower.

If your flight lands late, tell us when you book. We can move some stops to the next morning, though that makes Day 2 longer.

Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2: Drive to Agra and see Agra Fort
After breakfast, we take the Yamuna Expressway to Agra. The drive is about three and a half to four hours, with one tea stop on the way.

You reach Agra around midday, check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, your guide takes you through Agra Fort. The Mughal emperors lived and ruled here, and the halls and terraces take about an hour and a half to cover. From a few of the upper terraces, you can see the Taj Mahal in the distance.

If you like, we can go to Mehtab Bagh for a sunset view of the Taj from across the river. It costs a small entry fee and is optional. Many guests skip it and rest, because tomorrow starts early.

Overnight in Agra.

Day 3: Taj Mahal at sunrise, Fatehpur Sikri and Jaipur
We leave before sunrise to reach the Taj Mahal gate when it opens. Security lines can be long, so keep your bag small. Phones and small cameras are allowed. Tripods and food are not.

Your guide explains the marble inlay, the calligraphy and the story of the tomb, and then you can walk the gardens by yourself. Most people stay about two hours. Then it is back to the hotel for breakfast and check-out.

By late morning, we drive to Fatehpur Sikri, about 40 km from Agra. Akbar built this city in the 1500s and left it after around fourteen years. The palaces and courtyards are still standing, and the Buland Darwaza gate is the main landmark. The visit takes about two hours, and a guide is useful here.

From there we drive to Jaipur. About 95 km before the city, we stop at Abhaneri for Chand Baori, which takes 30 to 40 minutes. You reach Jaipur in the evening and are free for dinner.

Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 4: Jaipur sightseeing and return to Delhi
We go to Amber Fort early. By late morning it is crowded, and from April the sun is strong. You can walk up or take a jeep. The walk is short but steep. Your guide shows you the courtyards, the Ganesh Gate and the Sheesh Mahal.

On the way back, there is a quick photo stop at Jal Mahal, the palace in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Then we visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, which are close to Hawa Mahal. You get time for lunch and a short walk through the bazaars.

In mid-afternoon, we start the drive to Delhi. It is about 270 km and takes five to six hours. We drop you at your hotel or the airport. If you have an international flight that night, book it for after 10 pm.

Golden Triangle Tour 4 Days: FAQs

Is 4 days enough for the Golden Triangle tour?

Yes. Four days lets you see the main sights in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur without rushing, and it adds a full day in Delhi and a stop at Fatehpur Sikri. You still spend long hours in the car: about four hours from Delhi to Agra, about five from Agra to Jaipur and five to six back to Delhi.

What is the route of the 4 days Golden Triangle tour?

Can I see the Taj Mahal at sunrise on this tour?

Yes. The Taj Mahal visit is planned for sunrise on Day 3, when the light is softer and the crowds are smaller. The monument is closed on Fridays, so if that day falls on a Friday we change the plan so you visit on another day.

October to March is the best time, when the days are cooler. April to June gets very hot, and July to September has monsoon rain, though the tour still runs.
