Golden Triangle Tour with Kuno National Park

Duration: 6 Nights / 7 Days
Destinations Covered: Delhi → Agra → Kuno National Park → Jaipur → Delhi
The Golden Triangle Tour with Kuno National Park combines India’s best-known cultural route with its newest wildlife story. You spend four days in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, then drive to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, where cheetahs were reintroduced to India.
This is a 6 Nights/7 Days private tour. You travel in an AC car with an English-speaking driver. We book your hotels, plan the route and arrange your Kuno jeep safari, so you do not have to coordinate anything yourself.
The tour suits first-time visitors to India who want more than monuments. It also suits wildlife lovers who want to pair a safari with the Taj Mahal and the forts of Rajasthan. If you already know Ranthambore or Corbett, Kuno offers something different: open grassland forest and a chance to see cheetahs.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
Your driver meets you at Indira Gandhi International Airport with a name board. After a short drive, you check in at your hotel and rest.

In the afternoon, we visit India Gate, drive past the President's House and the Parliament area, and walk through Humayun's Tomb. The tomb is a good place to start because its design later influenced the Taj Mahal. If time remains, we visit Qutub Minar.

Dinner is at your own cost. If you like, your driver can suggest a good place near the hotel. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi to Agra
After breakfast, we drive to Agra by the Yamuna Expressway. The drive takes about 4 hours. We check in and then go to Agra Fort, which holds the palaces and halls of three Mughal emperors.

Later we visit Itmad-ud-Daulah, a small marble tomb with fine inlay work. In the evening, we go to the Taj Mahal. The monument is closed on Fridays, so we plan around that day when making your schedule. If your arrival falls so the Taj visit lands on a Friday, we will reorder the days.

Overnight in Agra.

Day 3: Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
If you want a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, we do it this morning instead of the evening before. The early light is softer and the crowds are smaller. After breakfast, we leave for Jaipur.

On the way, we stop at Fatehpur Sikri. Emperor Akbar built this city in the 1570s and left it within about 15 years, partly because of water problems. The red sandstone buildings are still well preserved. Take time to see Buland Darwaza and the Jama Masjid.

We reach Jaipur in the evening, about 5 hours of driving in total. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 4: Jaipur Sightseeing
Start early at Amber Fort, before the crowds arrive. You can walk up or take a jeep to the entrance. Inside, the Sheesh Mahal and the Ganesh Pol are the best parts.

After Amber, we stop at the Panna Meena Kund stepwell and then visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar. The observatory has large stone instruments that still measure time and star positions. We finish at Hawa Mahal and walk through the bazaars for block-printed textiles, blue pottery and jewellery.

Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 5: Jaipur to Kuno National Park
After breakfast, we drive towards Kuno through Sawai Madhopur or Karauli, depending on road conditions. The journey takes about 6 to 7 hours with stops. The roads are good for most of the way, but the last stretch is a local road.

You check in at the lodge near Kuno and have time to rest. In the evening, your driver or the lodge team explains the next day's safari plan. Overnight at Kuno.

Day 6: Kuno Safari
The morning safari starts shortly after sunrise. A forest-department guide goes with the jeep, and the driver follows the park's routes. You may see cheetahs, but you may also see leopards, sambar, nilgai, chital, langur and birds. Even if the cheetahs stay hidden, the landscape of grass, rock and the Kuno River is worth the trip.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and rest during the afternoon. If permits are available, you can take a second safari in the afternoon. Overnight at Kuno.

Hotels and Stay

We match hotels to your budget. You can choose from:

  • Budget: clean 3-star hotels with breakfast
  • Comfort: 4-star hotels with a pool and restaurant
  • Luxury: 5-star hotels or heritage palaces in Agra and Jaipur
At Kuno, accommodation is limited and mostly simple. Lodges and resorts near the park are comfortable but not luxury. We tell you what to expect for each night in the quote so there are no surprises.

Transport

Your private car stays with you for all seven days. It is an AC sedan or an SUV or tempo traveller for bigger groups. The driver speaks English, knows the route and waits at each monument.

A private car works well for this tour because the Jaipur to Kuno stretch has no direct tourist train service. Having your own driver also lets you start early for safari and stop for photos on the way.
