Day 1: Arrive in Delhi

Your tour begins the moment you land at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. A representative meets you at the arrival gate, helps you with your luggage, and transfers you to your hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle.

Take the rest of the day easy. Walk around your hotel neighborhood, grab a cup of chai, and soak in the energy of one of Asia's largest and most vibrant capitals.

Delhi never really sleeps, and even a short evening stroll gives you a feel for the city's pace, sights, and sounds.

Day 2: Explore Delhi

Delhi rewards the curious traveler. Today you spend a full day exploring both Old Delhi and New Delhi, two very different but equally fascinating sides of the same city.

Start the morning in Old Delhi. Board a cycle rickshaw and ride through the narrow, chaotic, and wonderful lanes of Chandni Chowk. Visit the enormous Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in Asia. Walk through the imposing red sandstone walls of the Red Fort, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century.

In the afternoon, head to New Delhi for a completely different atmosphere. Visit Qutub Minar, a 73-metre-tall tower and UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the beautifully symmetrical Humayun's Tomb, which inspired the design of the Taj Mahal. Drive past India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhavan along wide tree-lined avenues.

Finish the day at a local Delhi restaurant and try the city's famous street food and Mughlai cuisine.

Day 3: Delhi to Agra (220 km / 4 Hours by Road)

After breakfast, your driver takes you on the 4-hour drive from Delhi to Agra along the Yamuna Expressway, one of India's best highways.

Arrive in Agra by midday and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Agra Fort, a massive red sandstone fortress on the banks of the Yamuna River. Three Mughal emperors including Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan contributed to its construction over several decades. The fort contains palaces, audience halls, mosques, and gardens, all within its towering walls.

In the evening, visit Mehtab Bagh, a quiet garden directly across the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal. The sunset view of the Taj from here is extraordinary, with the white marble glowing warm gold in the fading light.

Day 4: Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri (235 km / 5 Hours)

Wake up early. This morning, you visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise, the single most memorable moment of this entire tour for most travelers.

The Taj Mahal was built between 1632 and 1652 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Over 20,000 workers spent nearly 17 years building this extraordinary white marble monument. At sunrise, the dome catches the first light of the day and glows in shades of pink and gold. The long reflecting pool mirrors the entire structure perfectly.

After breakfast and check-out, drive toward Jaipur with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri on the way. This abandoned Mughal city was built in the 1570s by Emperor Akbar and served as his capital for just 14 years before being deserted. The red sandstone palaces, mosques, and courtyards are remarkably well preserved and give you a powerful sense of how grand Mughal urban planning once was.

Day 5: Explore Jaipur, The Pink City

Jaipur is one of India's most beautiful and well-planned cities. It was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is famous for its salmon-pink colored buildings, grand forts, royal palaces, and bustling bazaars.

Start the day with a drive to Amber Fort, the old capital of the Rajput kingdom, set dramatically on a hillside 11 km from the city. The fort is a superb blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Walk through the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors), the Diwan-e-Khas, and the beautiful Jai Mandir. The views of the surrounding hills and lake from the fort walls are stunning.

Back in the city, photograph the iconic Hawa Mahal, the five-story pink sandstone facade with 953 tiny windows, built to allow royal women to observe street life without being seen. Visit the City Palace, which still serves as the residence of the royal family of Jaipur. Explore the Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century astronomical observatory and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the evening, head into the bustling lanes of the Jaipur bazaars. The city is famous for blue pottery, gemstones, block-printed textiles, silver jewelry, and leather shoes. Shop, bargain, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Day 6: Jaipur to Ahmedabad (Flight or Train)

After breakfast, your driver takes you to Jaipur airport or railway station for your onward journey to Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat and the gateway to Gir National Park.

Depending on your connection, you may arrive in Ahmedabad in the afternoon or evening. Ahmedabad is a fascinating city in its own right and a UNESCO World Heritage City, with a beautiful old town, historic mosques, havelis, and the famous Sabarmati Ashram associated with Mahatma Gandhi.

After check-in, take an optional evening stroll along the Sabarmati Riverfront, a popular promenade lined with parks and cafes.

Day 7: Ahmedabad to Gir National Park (360 km / 6 Hours by Road)

This is the day the adventure begins in earnest. After an early breakfast, your driver takes you on the road journey from Ahmedabad to Sasan Gir, the small town at the entrance of Gir Forest National Park.

The drive passes through the flat, open landscape of the Saurashtra region in Gujarat: small farming villages, dry riverbeds, dusty roads lined with acacia trees, and the occasional glimpse of peacocks and monkeys by the roadside. It feels very different from the busy cities of North India, and that contrast is part of what makes this tour so rewarding.

Arrive at your jungle resort in the afternoon. Check in, rest, and take a short walk in the area around the property before an early dinner. Tomorrow, you enter the forest at dawn.

Day 8: Gir National Park, Morning and Afternoon Safari

Today is the heart of the wildlife experience. You have two safari drives in Gir Forest National Park, the last remaining habitat of the Asiatic lion and one of the most important wildlife conservation success stories in India.

The morning safari begins at sunrise, around 6:30 am. You enter the park in an open jeep with a certified naturalist guide. The air is cool and fresh, and the forest is alive with birdsong. Gir is home to over 600 Asiatic lions, along with leopards, hyenas, jackals, Indian foxes, over 300 species of birds, and large herds of deer, antelope, and nilgai.

Spotting a lion in Gir is genuinely thrilling. These lions behave differently from their African relatives. They are smaller, more muscular, and live in smaller prides. Watching them walk through the dry teak forest or rest under an acacia tree at close range is an experience unlike any other.

The afternoon safari starts around 3:00 pm and runs until sunset. Evening light in the forest is golden and beautiful, and wildlife activity picks up again as the temperature drops.

Return to the resort for dinner and spend the evening sharing stories around the campfire or sitting quietly on your resort terrace listening to the sounds of the forest around you.

Day 9: Gir to Ahmedabad (Transfer + Flight to Delhi)

Arrive in Delhi in the evening. Depending on your international departure time, you may stay overnight or head directly to the airport.
