Kanha Flora & Fauna

Kanha best known for its evergreen Sal forest, is home to about 300 species of Birds, 43 species of Mammals, 26 species of Reptiles and more than 500 species of Insects.
The Major species found are hard ground Barasingha, Tiger, Leopard, Dhole, Bear, Gaur and Indian Python etc.


Kanha Safari Zones

Kanha Tiger Reserve has 8 Zones, four are in core area namely Kanha Kisli, Mukki, Sarhi, one in adjoining Phen Sanctuary and three are in buffer areas of Tiger Reserve adjoining the core namely Khatia, Khapa and Sijhora.


Kanha Jeep Safari Charges & Timing

The safari permit fees in Kanha National Park.
A full vehicle permit is INR 1500 per jeep. A single seat permit is INR 250 per seat. This doesn’t include booking charges and guide fees.

Note: Mandatory forest guide and jeep hire charges are additional, and are fixed. The guide fees is INR 360 per safari at Kanha National Park. The cost of hiring a vehicle at Kanha National Park is INR 2000. All prices are distributed equally between the tourists in the vehicle.

Safari Timings:
Kanha National Park remains open for visitors from 16th October to 30th June. The safari timings are:

Best Time to visit Kanha Tiger Reserve
The best time to visit Kanha Tiger Reserve is the period from mid October to June end. The park remains closed for the visitors in the monsoon season, from July to Mid October as the roads are not navigable during this period.


Note:

At Kanha afternoon shift of Jeep Safari remain closed for visitors on Every Wednesday. Morning & Afternoon both the shift remain close on Holi festival (In the month of March) .

There are some necessary details which required for safari reservation:

  • Full Name of every visitor
  • Age & Gender Nationality
  • Any Identity proof details like Passport, Driving License, PAN Card or Voter I D Card.
  • Visitor is required to carry the same ID proof in original at the time of visiting the national park.
